Local Produce Partnership Co-ordinator, Margate

24 hours per week (to include occasional weekends), salary £26,016 per annum, pro rata.

Windmill Community Allotment Project are seeking to recruit a Local Produce Partnership Co-ordinator to be responsible for the delivery of the partnership. The co-ordinator would be responsible for the overall functioning of the project, including management of operations, finances, staff and information, recruitment, management and development of a team of staff and volunteers and monitoring and evaluating their progression through a process of on-going support, supervision and appraisal. They will deliver support to the Development Worker in developing partnership working and income generation strategies to ensure the long term sustainability of the project.

The Windmill Community Allotment project is a successful community food and environment initiative. An exciting new project, the Local Produce Partnership, funded by the Big Lottery Fund's Local Food Scheme, is now being developed to tackle environmental, social and economic disadvantage. The aim is to increase skills in sustainable food production, availability and awareness through the development of a new organic market garden and vegetable box scheme working with the local community in Thanet.

You will have education to degree or HND level in a relevant qualification eg environmental or horticultural, personal or community development training, a minimum of three years experience of working with community groups and other voluntary or statutory organisations, project development experience including experience of delivery, service provision and meeting strategic targets and outcomes and experience of working with nationally recognised legislature and supporting bodies e.g. HSE, Environmental Health, DEFRA, Soil Association. 

The applicant will also have flexibility and commitment to the further development of Sure Start Millmead’s community development approach.
