The Department for Communities and Local Government, the government department with responsibility for allotments in England, has launched a series of Round Table Meetings about allotments. Key national stakeholder organisations, including ARI, take part in the meetings which began in November 2007 and are hosted by DCLG in conjunction with ARI partners the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens (FCFCG) and the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG). Chaired by Baroness Kay Andrews, Under Secretary for State for Communities and Local Government, the meetings are an opportunity to focus on future strategies around demand for and provision of allotments.
