SmartWater is a security marking device for valuables such as rotovators and power tools. Unlike other similar products, every purchased batch of SmartWater has its own chemical coding unique to the user and is almost impossible to remove. Its DNA-like forensic fingerprint is almost invisible to the naked eye but can be seen via a narrow wavelength of ultraviolet light, enabling the police to quickly establish ownership of property via a manufacturer's database.
