Sheffield City Council

A junior allotment committee made up of Year 6 children meet with an allotment officer on one of their regular visits to sites at Sharrard Road to identify issues and make suggestions for improvments.
  • Aims: To revitalise the Sharrard Road Allotments and Leisure Gardens by encouraging the involvement of existing tenants, local community groups, schools and individuals. Vandalism has been a problem in the past, so site security is a priority.
  • What will the grant be used for? Fencing and other infrastructure (£38,242)
  • Further Information: A profile of Sharrard Road appeared in our Summer 2004 Newsletter. Click here to download a copy of the article in Acrobat reader format. Sheffield City Council has a page about its allotments on its website.
