Small grant scheme

More than 180 projects submitted applications for these grants to assist allotment regeneration on a smaller scale. A total of £1,389,412 funding was requested, ten times the funding available. The most popular funding objectives were: Widening participation in allotment gardening (24.9%) Restoring derelict plots (23.8%) General access improvements (22.2%) New fencing/gates (22.2%) Access/facilities for the disabled (18%). 102 Round 2 awards have been made to a total value of £136,000. 66 of these were to allotment associations. The size of the awards range from £170 to £4000. A list of the successful applicants is available in Adobe Acrobat Format.
