Fromeside Allotment Association, Bristol
Fromeside Allotment Association was awarded £2,000 towards improving access for disabled people. The association are widening the shop entrance and adding a ramp, installing a toilet, improving access roads and building two plots with tarmac paths and raised beds.
Ray Kane explains how they went about making the improvments:
"We contacted Avon Disabled Living Centre, who have put us in touch with lots of clubs and organisations for us to advertise the plots to. We also received a grant from the City Council's Mobility and Access Fund, whose advisor was able to provide valuable advice, being a wheelchair user."
