The inaugural School Farm Network Conference, held at the West Somerset College in Minehead in July, proved a great success. In the past three years more than 20 schools have developed new farm units, with at least three times that number currently exploring how to start...and the interest is growing as all teachers can benefit from the use of the hands-on, real life learning environment that the school farm provides. Secondary, primary, PRUs and now nurseries are all looking to gain from rearing livestock on site.
