Kentish Town City Farm to Vauxhall City Farm

Estimated Time:
One hour (or more for slower cyclists)

Comment:
This is probably the busiest part of the route and takes you through the big parks and past some of the capital's greatest landmarks, including Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. The journey may take longer than estimated if you need to work out the route as you go along, or if you want to stop at some of the tourist hotspots. You will need to dismount and negotiate some of the junctions as a pedestrian.

Directions (from Kentish Town):

  • Head down Grafton Road
  • Turn Right down Queen's Crescent
  • Go Across Malden Road
  • Turn Right at Prince of Wales Road
  • Turn Left at Haverstock Hill, passing Chalk Farm tube station and two sets of traffic lights close together

  • Head up Regents Park Road and over the railway bridge

  • Turn Left along bike route through Speakers Corner to Hyde Park Corner

  • Turn Right at Parliament Square junction onto Millbank as a pedestrian unless you are experienced in London traffic
  • Turn Left onto Lambeth Bridge
  • Go straight across the roundabout with the Museum of Garden History on your left, onto Lambeth High Street

Kentish Town City Farm, Camden

Since then it has provided animals, gardening space, horse riding, and a focus for youth, education, and community work for thousands of users each year. It's a surprise to find the farm among the surrounded blocks of flats, but Kentish Town has used its space very creatively especially around the railway lines where sheep shelter under the arches.
