News & Events

True Value Research: A research study carried out across Cumbria and North East England has highlighed the true value of city farms and community gardens. The study, financed by Northern Rock Foundation, assessed the impact and value of community farms and gardens to individuals and communities, focussing on opportunities for engagement, volunteering, training, capacity builidng and empowerment. The findings were clear - community farms and gardens provide tangible benefits to people's lives, increasing their well-being, community involvement and pride in their local environment.

Funding 

The Key Fund: offering support packages of between £1,000 and £50,000 to social businesses working in disadvantaged communities in Yorkshire and Humberside. Catalyst Fund: £250 to £1,000 for community groups and small local charities. The fund's priorities are: Youth Projects, Community Facilities, and Projects for people with disabilities.
