You'll
barely have time to get up a head of steam and get your wheels rolling
before pulling into Hackney City Farm on this the shortest of the
London City Farm Cycle Route sections. However both Spitalfields and
Hackney are well worth visiting, and the short shuttle time between them means you can spend a day going to both!
Directions (from Spitalfields):
- From Spitalfields go back to Vallance Road
- Go Across Dunbridge Road and Bethnal Green Road onto Squirries Street
- Turn Left at Gosset Street then immediately Right into Durrant Street
- Head onto the cycle path, through Ion Square Gardens
- Go Across Hackney Road at the cycle traffic lights to Hackney City Farm.

Spitalfields City Farm, Tower Hamlets
General Information: Sited on a former railway good depot near Brick Lane in the East End, Spitalfields has become a community farm with a real multi-ethnic flavour. There is a wildlife area, vegetable garden and many unusual animals. The farm runs a wide range of events and activities throughout the year, from a festive market at Christmas to sheep-shearing demos in the summer.
Facilities: Disabled access. Toilets, shop, indoor and outdoor play areas, classroom and education room. Baby-changing area. Summer sheep-shearing demos.
Opening Hours: From 10.30am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday. The farm will be affected by the construction of the East London line, so please check with the farm before arriving.

Hackney City Farm, Hackney
General Information: Centred on a traditional cobbled farmyard (formerly a brewery), Hackney has a number of attractions including a large selection of animals, a beautiful walled garden and an award-winning cafe. Frizzante serves home-made Italian dishes with an on-site deli. The farm hosts a number of craft activities including pottery, stone sculpture, music & movement and textile printing.
Facilities: Disabled access. Classroom, cafe, toilets. Wet and dry garden feature.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am?- 4.30pm. Closed Mondays except Spring and Summer Bank Holidays.
