True value of community farms and gardens
Our study into the True Value of city farms and community gardens assessed the impact and value of these groups to individuals and communities, focussing on opportunities for engagement, volunteering, training, capacity builidng and empowerment.
The results were clear - community farms and gardens provide tangible benefits to people's lives, increasing their well-being, community involvement and pride in their local environment.
The study was carried out in partnership with the Regeneration Exchange at the University of Northumbria and was funded by the Northern Rock Foundation.
