This
takes you past many major visitor attractions and some less well-known
but equally fascinating historic sights along the river. Look out for
cobblestones and inattentive pedestrians along the Thames Path stretch.
Directions (from Vauxhall):
- Turn Right onto Tyers Street
- Turn Left onto Black Prince Road
- Turn Right onto Newport Street, then through the car park onto Sail Street. Look for the cycle crossing at the Lambeth Road junction.
- Go Across onto Hercules Street
- Go Across Westminster Bridge Road onto Baylis Road and past the Old Vic onto the Cut
- Go Across Blackfriars Road to Union Street
- Take second Left onto Great Suffolk Street
- Head Across Southwark Street to Sumner Street, skirting round the Tate Modern and onto the Thames Path at New Globe Street. The Path takes you past the Globe Theatre, the Clink, Vinopolis, Borough Market, the Golden Hind, the GLA building and HMS Belfast.
- Go under Southwark, London and Tower Bridges to Shad Thames
- Head either over or around the dock to Bermondsey Row and onto Chamber Street, passing Llewellyn Street
- Turn Left onto the Thames Path
- Cycle Across Fountain Green Square to Cherry Garden Street, then Cathay Street by the Angel pub.
- Head Across the gardens and a small estate
- Take second Right at Cottle Way past the Ship pub. A Free School dating from 1613 is on your right
- Head round St Mary's Church Street passing a very old pub, the Mayflower, onto the long stretch of Rotherhithe Street, with great views of Docklands. Follow this to Surrey Docks Farm.

Vauxhall City Farm, Lambeth
General Information: Located opposite the imposing MI6 building, the farm has been operating since 1977. There are many different animals to see, aromatic herb gardens, an attractive food garden and a pond area planted to attract wildlife. The farm also has a classroom for school / group use. Don't miss the amazing goat sculpture!
Facilities: Disabled access. Toilets, education room, spinning room, riding lessons, tours, visits and art classes for members.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm. Closed Mondays and Fridays.

Surrey Docks Farm, Southwark
General Information: Situated in a beautiful location on the banks of the Thames looking across the river to the soaring towers of Canary Wharf, Surrey Docks has goats, cows, hens, pigs and bees to see. There is a working blacksmith on site; herb, dye and vegetable gardens. Plus many examples of community art. Visitors can try delicious healthy food in the farm's caf? Nabo (open 11am-4.30pm).
Facilities: Disabled access. Toilets and shop. Access to Thames Path for a delightful riverside walkway. Bee room, classroom and yurt room (by prior appointment only).
