How do we keep our valuable volunteers engaged in our outdoor space throughout the year, including the wet and cold winter seasons?
Sponsored by Dobies and run by Social Farms & Garden, this training day is suitable for anyone working within a community growing setting.
Where: Scotswood Natural Community Garden, Newcastle
When: Thursday 16th January 2020, 10.00am - 3.30pm (arrival from 9.30am)
Cost: £20 per person, including lunch. We would never want to exclude any organisation on the basis of cost. Contact Alison for more details: [email protected]
What to expect on the day:
We will explore the principles of good volunteer management including recruitment, volunteer policies, training and retaining volunteers particularly when the bad weather sets in and your garden may not be looking its best.
There will be an opportunity to tour the beautiful Scotswood Natural Community Garden and hear about how they are successfully working with volunteers in all seasons.
Booking notes:
This training is offered in partnership with Dobies who, as well as offering discounts on their products are sponsoring a year’s worth of vital training for members of Social Farms & Gardens. This training will support members to grow a healthy community garden and a healthy organisation.
