Where: Polbeth & West Calder Community Garden


This session will explore different options for organising your community group to manage a community garden. We will look at topics like choosing the right structure for your group, visioning & forward planning, and roles and responsibilities.

To make sure this training is relevant to your group, please provide information about your current structure and anything you are particularly hoping to learn. The day will also include a tour of Polbeth & West Calder Community Garden SCIO, and a free lunch will be provided.

If the cost is presenting a barrier to your group, please get in touch to ask about our access & travel bursaries.

* Stefan Kay has been a Director since 1979, including of Stock Exchange Listed companies, and is currently a Director of 3 small companies (1 in Ireland); also a Trustee since 1989, including pension funds and charities. He is currently a Trustee (and Director) of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society, where he chairs the Finance & Audit Committee; and of Heriot-Watt Students Union, where he chairs the Trustee Board. He is a Companion of the Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. A Chartered Engineer, he spent 34 years in the paper manufacturing industry and then 8 years working for Heriot-Watt University, principally as Director of Services for their campus in Galashiels.
