Vision

Every community in Cardiff is a food growing community. Fresh, seasonal, locally grown food is available to all.

Introduction

CLAS Cymru and its growing partners around Cardiff are keen to get growing! We want food and pollinators at the centre of communities living and working in Cardiff. We want to inspire Cardiff Council, Welsh Government, community growers, community and town councils and housing associations to develop forward thinking approaches and to instigate and enthuse communities to grow food and flowers in public spaces and planters on the streets of Cardiff and to manage those spaces.

Who is this event for?

Cardiff Based Assembly Members, Cardiff Council - officers and councillors, Cardiff Transition, Food Cardiff, Cardiff third sector partners and Cardiff volunteers, Cardiff community and town Councils, community growers.

A Draft Programme

9:00 – Coffee/ Tea/ Registration

9:30 – Key Note Address – Mark Drakeford Assembly Member for Cardiff West

09:50 – Incredible Edible – Pam Warhurst

10:30 – Creating places to grow on our Streets – David Kilner, Canton Grows Wild

10:50 – Local Authority perspective - Matt Wakelam, Operations Manager, City of Cardiff Council

11:15 – Comfort Break

11.30 – Actions discussion in groups and plenary session

13:00 – Lunch in Cwtch bar area

14:00 – Session for growers at the Chapter Garden
