Can you help me with acquiring land for setting up a care farm?
Land acquisition is a very broad subject and can differ from region to region depending on the policies of the Local Authority. We understand that it can often be one of the first hurdles to overcome when trying to set up a care farm. You may wish to try working with a local farm and seeing if they can help. The Community Land Advisory Service (CLAS) is a fantastic resource that aims to increase community access to land across the UK, particularly for green space activities. Through CLAS, you can find information on finding, buying, offering and leasing of land within your country of the UK.
For information specific to you region, please see the Social Farms and Gardens website which includes a map of care farms in UK. It is worth noting that this map will only show care farms that have either achieved or are working towards the Code of Practice, so if you cannot find what you are looking for on here you could also try contacting your relevant Regional Support Officer by emailing email@example.com. If you are wanting to acquire land another way, you may wish to contact your Local Authority for further advice.
