Previously: Stratton school has a four hectare working farm with a wide diversity of livestock, including rare breeds, and nursery plants. The children use the unit extensively in and out of lessons. It produces pork, lamb, poultry and eggs and uses welfare friendly farming methods. The horticultural unit produces bedding, perennials, tubs and basket plants for winter and summer. Agricultural Science is offered as an option at KS4 when students may choose to undertake a practical National Vocational Qualification at Level 1 or a GCSE in Agricultural and Rural Science. At KS5 students can undertake National Vocational Qualifications in either Horticulture or Livestock Production at Level 2. Work experience placements provided for a wide ability/age range. Open day and plant sale on 2nd Sunday in May each year.
