This terraced tea garden, with flowers and shrubs, overlooking the sea, Essex coast and the Isle of Sheppey, offers tea and refreshments in the summer months. The garden lies on the site of an old Copperas Works and was laid out as tea gardens by the council in 1948; they subsequently became neglected until the community gardeners of Whitstable Improvement Trust restored them to their former glory. It is now a very valuable piece of open green urban space and is very popular in summer, as a venue for art shows, festivals, picnics, punch and judy shows and performances.
