GCTT is a registered charity delivering accredited vocational land based and rural skills qualifications to all, in particular those with a learning disability; offering people who would be disadvantaged in the labour market, such as excluded pupils, the opportunity to gain skills to work towards employment. The project is based on a 200 acre site on the edge of the Peak District where qualified woodworkers, mechanics, horticulturalists and blacksmiths offering training to the students. There are a number of mini-businesses, such as the cafe and free range egg production who feed their profit back to GCTT.
