Baxter' Field is a community owned field of 4 acres in centre of historic Lewes; available for play, recreation and games. The site is maintained by volunteers who are developing the site by planting native Sussex trees and hedgerows under-planted with native species.
Tythe Copse is a lottery funded breathing space. The site attracts bats, foxes and birds and we are encouraging school groups to visit at different times of year; we would like more young people to be involved in its care. The production of an information board and leaflets is in progress.

Directions:
Situated off the main road from Lewes to Brighton (Western Rd). Turn off at the RC Church opposite St Anne's Church. Up the short narrow Ireland's Lane, the entrance to the field is at the top - Bradford Rd/Paddock Lane junction.
Site is steep so wheelchair users would need assistance, new wheelchair access at further end of field is planned.
