Windmill Community Allotment Project is an environmental community project offering a wide range of fun and educational activity; volunteer and work experience opportunities for local communities and visiting groups. The project is located on two wildlife rich one-acre sites within Dane Valley Allotments. The main community site has the following facilities and areas: kitchen; indoor and outdoor individual, group and communal organic growing spaces; wildlife garden and pond with pond dipping and seating; young orchard with local fruit and nut varieties and beekeeping area; compost toilet; compost bins and wormeries; under 5's playarea with willow tunnels and sandpit; picnic and bonfire areas; woodwork area, herb, flower, soft fruit and perennial vegetable beds and plant nursery. Bee Hives are on the other site against the railway line. Veg box scheme and market stall.
