2000m² is the flagship project on Whitmuir Community Farm for Whitmuir Community Benefit Society. The project is funded through the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund and aims to help people to reduce their carbon emissions through three key activities:
1. Recycling food waste - we divert food waste from landfill via our local food waste recycling service using two Big Hanna machines.
2. Growing organic food - we use the compost to improve the soil for growing vegetables and salad leaves, volunteers learn new skills and share in the harvest.
3. Cookery Courses - following the LiveWell principles we help participants to reduce their 'foodprint'.
