Small community garden where people can grow their own veg and meet others interested in food and growing with CCF funding part of a three strand project tin the village focusing on energy, food and upcycling. Current focus on carbon reduction-limited support and feedback from CCF. Development worker works 3 days a week supporting cooking, gardening, selling produce and developing other gardens.One other garden visited-developed by them as donated by a member of the community-basic landscaping done, the plan is to grow soft fruit. Rachels funding ends March 2016-group currently seeks more funding to do work to support more cooking workshops. The cooking workshops in conjunction with local youth group for local young people in holiday time run two days a week over the holidays for 10 kids each time-they are oversubscribed.
Land is leased from local estate-once used for tattie growing but can't get machinery under power lines so leased to the group. Mix of communal beds and individual plots-core at the garden of 15-20. some produce is taken to a monthly market stall or weekly produce stall-lots of local small holders all donate goods for sale.
