We manage a former mill site in a community of 2,500 people. We are a semi rural site. We have a large community garden, food and composting project, community managed park and associated projects like a Community Fridge, People's Shed and Library of Things. Much of what we do revolves around encouraging people to slow down and appreciate how simple life can be, reducing our and their carbon footprint in the process. We organise regular volunteering sessions, training courses in cooking, social and therapeutic horticulture for people suffering poor mental health and activities for older people. We organise social and seasonal events like Apple Day in the autumn, designed to reconnect people with each other, the wider community and the natural world.
