Community Plot on a self-managed Allotment site.

Since 2016, we have been developing a Community Plot, with Barnet Mencap service users and volunteers, for people who need support to garden and grow food. We have had funding from the Postcode Lottery, administered by the Royal Mencap Society for a Community Improvement Project, and from Barnet Giving (London Communities Fund).

The community plot is a vital part of our site. Users are encouraged to take part in in all of the activities of the site, e.g. BBQ and annual show. One of the Group members has developed confidence and skills and now has his own plot.

In April 2017, we will be celebrating our first year at the Big Dig on April 22nd, when we will plant the pond the Group has made, and eat pizza! All volunteers are welcome to join us.
