Established in 2006, The Phoenix Children's Foundation is a volunteer led charity that works to enhance the lives of vulnerable children, young people and their families through the provision of funding for specialist activities and equipment. The charity owns a menagerie of animals, which has enabled the expansion of services, to include animal assisted therapy and the recent development of the Flourish with Phoenix care farm, providing therapeutic education and activities. The Flourish with Phoenix project currently focuses its services on people with disabilities. However, there are plans to expand these services to other vulnerable groups and communities, to include dementia patients, young people in care, who may present with challenging behaviour or mental health problems.
Our facilities include disabled equipment, toilets, a kitchen, offices and and the recent addition of an outdoor classroom. Set within 18 acres of farm land, we have animals to include ponies, goats, alpaca, reindeer, chickens etc, In addition, our sensory garden, small allotment and brook that runs alongside, allow for work based opportunities in animal care, horticulture, agriculture and the environment.
