Firth Park Community Allotment is one of the Heeley City Farm family of gardens. In 2005 Firth Park First Start Children’s Centre and Heeley City Farm established the Firth Park Community allotment project on (now) four Sheffield City Council allotments on the Brushes Allotment site at Firth Park. The gardens have been designed, in partnership with Firth Park Children’s Centre, to enable parents and families and their young children experience and participate in local food growing, harvesting and eating. In addition the garden is visited and used by home schooling families, childminders, schools and youth groups and offers many volunteering and work placement opportunities.

Currently Heeley City Farm employ a Firth Park Community Allotment project manager and deploy other Heeley City Farm sessional staff to manage the project and other food related projects in the Firth Park area. The Community Allotment has won many accolades including annual Green Flag Community Awards, Yorkshire in Bloom commendations and best Sheffield Community Allotments and is regularly featured in the local press and other media.
