To build community resilience, address and prepare for emergencies and challenges including the climate crisis and the exit from fossil fuels.
- Build food security by local food production and skills eg community veg gardens or allotments, community farms.
- Share and develop information and skills, map assets.
- Plant trees to restore habitat, provide products, prevent floods.
- Establish ways to meet and make decisions that are inclusive, informed and empowering.
- Investigate and develop renewable energy for local benefit and to replace fossil fuels.
- Collect tools, equipment and materials, plans and communication channels in case of supply breakdown, flooding or other emergency.
Specifically we are looking to set up a local CSA project, and acquire land to enhance for wildlife habitat and community use, take over an existing composting business, provide a route to market for small local producers... along with other projects!
Our monthly networking sessions are open to anyone involved in care farming and green care, regardless of where you live or what stage you're are at.
