Kingsbury High School is a single academy providing secondary education for 11+. The school is mixed (male and female) and is situated in the London Borough of Brent. The borough has a high percentage of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and very little or no access to a private garden / shared garden space. Over 30% in receipt of pupil premium. The school has a lot of open green space and the plan is to redesign and develop one of these areas in to a vegetable, fruit and flower garden for students of KHS (and potentially students of a nearby SEN school, The Village School - when Covid restrictions are eased) to access for outdoor learning activities (such as science / horticulture studies and food tech) and gardening clubs. Work has begun on obtaining a skip and some compost (donated by local firms / traders), however more funding is needed for materials and supplies to get the project finished.
