Open Garden Squares Weekend (London)

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Open Garden Squares Weekend, which allows visitors to discover and explore some of London's most fascinating squares, gardens and green spaces - most of which are not normally open to the public.  There are 211 gardens taking part in 2016, with 42 community gardens opening their doors including FCFCG members such as Culpeper Community Garden, King Henry's Walk, Phoenix Farm, Sydenham Garden and Spitalfields City Farm.


Member event: Introduction to volunteering (Bristol)

This free, four week course is an opportunity to work in a small group with a member of farm staff to learn some of the basics of volunteering on the Community Farm.

Participants will work outside learning how to look after the animals including feeding, watering, cleaning and handling; complete some gardening tasks in the farm's gardens; carry out some farm maintenance tasks and learn how to stay safe whilst working on the farm.

The course will take place on Thursdays from 10am - 1pm, starting on 3rd March 2016 and ending on 24th March 2016.


Member event: Charity fundraising event (Essex)

Charity Fundraising Event at Lambourne End Centre in aid of youth provision, outdoor learning and raising aspirations

Meet the farm animals, try pond dipping for newts, enjoy a pony & cart ride and get adventurous crawling through caves, across a low ropes course, kayaking + more!


Commissioning placements for people with learning disabilities (Hertfordshire)

An event aimed at staff and volunteers working with (or planning to work with) people with moderate to severe learning disabilities. Materials, refreshments and lunch will be provided.
