What: This event is a chance to see and meet other care farmers 'face to face' but remotely! The aim is to provide a forum for care farmers, prospective care farmers, the GCF team and others to support each other and to share learning and ideas.

14th October 2020 - Yorkshire and Humber Care farming Network meeting

What: This online meeting, chaired by Robin Asquith from Camphill Village Trust, is part of a regular programme of bi-annual meetings of this independent network. These meetings are an opportunity to provide peer support and develop relationships across the care farming sector in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Who: This event is designed for care farmers, prospective care famers and others from 'green care' sites in the Yorkshire and Humberside region

13th October 2020 - GCF Themed Webinar - Governance: How should I set up my care farming enterprise?

What: In this themed webinar we will address the complexities of possible governance options for care farmers (and other green care service providers). This is something that many prospective care farmers raise with us, so the webinar will highlight the importance of the right governance set up, the various options available to care farmers, and the advantages and requirements of each.The session will be led by Karen McGarrity, Development Officer for Redcar & Cleveland Voluntary Development Agency who has extensive experience advising and supporting the establishment of community groups and charitable enterprises. Karen is also a trustee of a local youth charity.

10th September 2020 - GCF Themed Webinar - What is Crowdfunding and how can it help our care farm?

What:  This webinar is about 'crowdfunding', designed to help you decide whether it can be used as an alternative way of raising funds and the profile of your care farm. Many organisations (including care farms and other organisations delivering green care) have experienced a loss of income due to the Covid-19 pandemic and are looking to explore alternative sources of funding such as ‘Crowdfunding.’ In this webinar, Anthony de Souza from the Crowdfunding Mastery Academy will talk us through what it is, the pros and cons of this approach and how to make it work for your organisation.

18th August 2020 - GCF Themed Webinar - Care Farming: A snapshot of our sector

14th July 2020 - GCF Themed Webinar - Reducing COVID-19 Risks & Re-opening your care farm

What: With lockdown restrictions gradually being eased many care farms are hoping to open their doors again to service users, but it's essential that they think about how to ensure they also reduce the risks related to COVID-19. This webinar will talk through a new checklist which has been developed by the GCF team and care farming Code of Practice assessors to enable care farms to confidently review their working practices and put measures in place to reduce risks before re-opening.

What: This back to basics webinar is for existing care farmers and those looking to deliver care farming activities in the future. It addresses the crucial issues of cybersecurity and data security when running a care farm and handling personal data, but in an accessible and jargon free way.

5th May 2020 - GCF Themed Webinar - Creative engagement on Social Media

What: This informal webinar was hosted by the GCF project where we will be joined by Lucy Thornton from Thornwood Alpacas & Care Farm and Geoff Stevens from Thornwood Alpacas & Care Farm and Geoff Stevens from Pathways Care Farm who are going to tell us about some of the social media techniques they are using to stay connected with service users and wider supporters of care farms during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

11th February 2020 - GCF Regional event - Funding information session - Sheffield

What: Do you have little or no experience of fundraising? Do you need help and advice on finding and securing suitable funding for your care farm? This event is will provide some of the basic skills and knowledge required to access different funding sources. The GCF team and invited speakers will be on hand to provide an introduction to the variety of different sources of funding available and where to find the information.

26th November 2019 - GCF Yorkshire and Humberside 'Going Live' launch event - York

What: This event provided an opportunity to network, discuss existing care farming provision, highlight opportunities and pledge support to the development of the sector in the region.
