Have A Grow Day, a new community gardens open day for Wales, took place on June 2, 2018.
Have A Grow Day is a way of promoting and celebrating the work of community growing groups in Wales, who help transform lives and neighbourhoods. It is also a chance to raise some money through donations from visitors and even finding some new volunteers! Whether you’re involved as a visitor, volunteer or staff member, the idea is to spread the word and promote your local community garden or allotment, school garden or community supported agriculture scheme.
We’d like to get as many growing projects across Wales as possible to take part in any future Have A Grow Day events, and help them get lots of visitors to see them in action. Venues can open for just a few hours or the whole day, provide refreshments or go all out and make it a family fun day with lots of activities – it’s entirely up to you.
In the meantime, use the map below to see which groups took part in Have A Grow Day 2018.
We hope there will be a Have A Grow Day next year. Nearer the time we will give you details of how to sign up and register your event!
