'Have A Grow Day' is a community gardens open day for Wales.
Last year over 30 gardens in Wales took part in the first 'Have A Grow Day' and it's happening again this year on 1st June 2019.
The day is a way of promoting and celebrating the work of community growing groups who help transform lives and neighbourhoods all over Wales. It's also a chance to raise some money through donations from visitors and even finding some new volunteers! Whether you’re involved as a visitor, volunteer or staff member, the idea is to spread the word and promote your local community garden or allotment, school garden or community supported agriculture scheme.
We’d like to get as many growing projects in Wales as possible to take part in Have A Grow Day events, and help them get lots of visitors to see them in action. Venues can open for just a few hours or the whole day, provide refreshments or go all out and make it a family fun day with lots of activities – it’s entirely up to you.
Why not throw open your gates to celebrate your fantastic work! We’ll do everything we can to help you promote the day and make it a success. We have our Have A Grow pack ready to send out to you.
This is a great opportunity to show off all the good work you are doing!
Would you like to take part?
Whether you are opening as an individual garden or part of a group, please register your interest by contacting email@example.com and we’ll arrange for your pack to be sent out to you.
