Education Officer (Full/Semi Full Time)
Location: The Farm Project, Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester, Gloucestershire

The Farm Project at Abbey Home Farm is looking for an outgoing full of fun person with a passion for young people and the outdoors to join our small friendly team. You will have experience of delivering education programmes and working with children and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds, and have a strong knowledge of organic farming and the natural world.
The Farm Project CIC (Community Interest Company) offers an unusual experience for children and young people through a short-stay residential on a working organic farm. Whilst here children and young people gain a deep understanding of where food comes from through hands-on growing, harvesting and cooking.
They work with livestock and spend time in the woods building an awareness and appreciation for the natural world. Learning outside the classroom offers invaluable opportunities for personal development, building confidence and self-esteem. The nurturing environment encourages positive relationships to be built between individuals and gives a general sense of wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing and passionate about young people and the countryside. You will have experience of delivering education and working with children and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds. You will genuinely enjoy the company of children and young people (all day long!), be happy out in the woods whatever the weather and have a high mud tolerance. The role will be working alongside a Part-time Education Co-ordinator (line manager) and several sessional workers from different areas of the farm.

Hours will need full flexibility to work with the programmes. Some weeks will be very busy with occasional working from 9am till 8pm, other weeks might be quite free. Rota will be known in advance. Simple or shared accommodation might be available on the farm.
