Life Skills & Outreach Coordinator Location: Growing Well, Low Sizergh Farm, Kendal, Cumbria Salary: £24,000 pro rata Contract: 12 months Hours: Part-time, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week
Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic networker with excellent communication skills?
Are you passionate about supporting people from all walks of life to recover from mental ill health through exploring new ideas and activities?
Do you believe in harnessing the power of local communities?
We are a mental health charity and horticultural enterprise in the South Lakes looking to transform our engagement with health and other organisations who refer potential beneficiaries (our ‘Volunteers’) to us. We also want to develop with community partners a vibrant programme of Life Skills courses and experiences for our beneficiaries, here at our site at Low Sizergh, to enhance our core Recovery Through Activity programme on our farm and in our kitchen. We also want to expand and strengthen our network of voluntary supporters who can provide their skills and experience to benefit our charity.
Do you have the zeal and spirit it takes to get out there into our community and revolutionise our referrals, get people connected and create exciting, new progression opportunities for our beneficiaries?
This is a wide-ranging role where a strong relevant skillset and record of achievement in co-ordinating and communicating, and delivering projects, is as important as your current role.
You may be experienced in representing an organisation to customers or clients, led employee training and wellbeing, created and organised business or Third Sector engagement or learning events, or be an energetic and connected community organiser - or you could be from a totally different sector, seeking a new and exciting challenge.
If you think this could be you, we’d love to hear from you!
Good physical health is desirable as there will be some requirement to work outdoors and in adverse weather. A full driving licence is essential.
