Mental Health Programmes & Volunteering Lead
Location: Bath City Farm
Hours: 28 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 9am – 4.30pm)
Salary: £19,385 per annum (Full time equivalent £25,962)
This is an exciting new role that will lead in delivering the farm’s successful Roots to Health programme using nature-based interventions to support people to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing. We are looking for someone who has significant experience of supporting people with a mental health diagnosis in a community and/or formal context and of providing one to one support for people to improve their wellbeing, signposting to relevant services and developing their personal skills. You will also have a calm and measured manner, with the ability to communicate diplomatically and build trust and respect with a wide range of people. In addition, the role requires a good knowledge and skills in gardening and other practical land-based skills. In this role you will coordinate and help deliver the farm’s overall volunteer programme including the running of horticulture, animal care and healthy cooking activities, specifically tailored for people living with a mental health diagnosis. You will be supported by Horticulture and Animal Therapy Project Assistants to deliver suitable activities for a wide range of abilities. This role will also oversee recruitment for the Natural Pathways project delivered onsite by Avon Wildlife Trust. You will take responsibility for ensuring that all participants have the correct support, finding suitable pathways and tracking personal progression to support their recovery.
