Hours: 37.5 hour week

Ashfield Gardens, which is where this role will be based, is in a beautiful semi-rural location between Stourbridge and Kidderminster and is part of our Stourbridge Community.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives. As a Social Garden/ Farm Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for planning and organising the social garden and creating a strategic framework to help create a long term sustainable social garden. The role includes the need to promote the social garden service provision, attend events and meetings outside of the garden and liaise with the Camphill Village Trust marketing team to help promote and advertise the social garden opportunities. The role will encompass exploring opportunities for funding, collaborating with external partners and developing new support opportunities within the social garden. The role includes leading the garden team, and working with the garden manager to ensure the needs of the garden, and people supported are met. There is some record keeping involved including recording information in spreadsheets and drafting emails and basic word tasks using word documents.

You will have experience working within a Care Farm or similar care/land based setting and have previous experience of teaching or delivering structured activities to groups. Significant knowledge of farming practice and animal husbandry is essential, along with a good knowledge of health and safety legislation. What is important to us is that you share our values, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.  You will be good at both listening to and talking with people.  You will have a positive and patient approach to supporting people with daily activities and enjoy helping people learn and explore new things. You have a flexible approach and like work both as part a team as well as on your own.

Normally you will work your hours between 9-5, Monday to Friday but it is possible that on occasion you may be asked to work outside of these hours of the days. A full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK will be required, as you will be driving the charity’s vehicles. Tractor driving experience is desirable but not essential.
