Veg Shed Coordinator (Saturdays) Location: The Community Farm, Chew Valley, near Bristol Hours: Part-time, permanent position (6 hours per week) based at Salary: £9.52 per hour.
The Community Farm is a social enterprise and a community supported agriculture project dedicated to environmental sustainability and community involvement. We grow organic vegetables and fruit on around 15 acres. We sell our produce, and that of other (primarily local) organic growers, to the local community, mostly through an organic box delivery scheme. Our profits are used to enable people to reconnect with the land and discover where their food comes from through community engagement projects. We’re a close, friendly team. The role of the Veg Shed Coordinator is to run our Veg Shed as an organic food market stall on a Saturday, on site at The Community Farm. The Coordinator will need to set up and close down The Veg Shed at the beginning and end of the shift, using stock from our warehouse on site.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and friendly for all customers
• Display units and Veg Shed are kept clean at all times
• Assisting with stock management
• Cash handling
• Waste Management and helping to minimise waste
• Breaking down boxes
• Maintain up to date knowledge of The Community Farm and Get on Our Land opportunities
Holiday: (pro rata) 28 days annual leave a year rising to 32 days after 12 months continuous service, and 33 days after 36 months. Benefits: Sick pay and pension.
