Appleby Edibles have been working on this site since 2013. A community growing space with 15 allotment holders/ members from a range of backgrounds, ages, and mental and physical health challenges. The site at AHC gives people an opportunity to develop skills and share expertise, in a publicly accessible, informal space.
Based on ecological and sustainable principles, connecting people & place through practical gardening sessions. Workshops in kitchen gardening and supported sessions in basic practical horticulture, aesthetic design and design for sustainability, waste management, growing for food, for wildlife biodiversity and wellbeing, transferable for any small domestic spaces and larger public or private projects.
Raising awareness of all aspects of sustainable growing and the use of plants; Seeds, food, drinks, medicine, dyes, fibres, cosmetics, household use, textiles, decoration and structures. Encouraging wellbeing & healthy lifestyles, we are also Dementia friendly.
