One of a number of community and school gardens run around Reading by the Food4Families network. Lavender Place is a 'meanwhile' site with a forest garden and vegetable beds which are looked after by volunteers, and family plots which are tended by members of the Nepalese community. We grow extra fruit and vegetables for distribution as part of Veg4Reading.

What events and activities do you have planned for the day?

We will have gardening sessions, for people to have a go at sowing and planting. We'll also have some workshops to introduce people to yoga, qigong and stone sculpting. Reading Food Growing Network's seed swap will be available and people can follow a self-guided trail or have a picnic
