Thrive [previously known as Horticultural Therapy (HT)] is a national charity which works to promote the use of horticulture as a therapy. Their Battersea demonstration garden provides practical workshops for groups of people (both at the garden and at client's day centres, residential homes, hospitals, schools etc..) and a therapeutic day care service. These services are open to people of all ages and all disabilities, and it is their aim to enable people to gain the skills they need to achieve their goals by the use of a structured programme of horticulture. Thrive can also provide information, support and advice to individuals, groups and professionals working in the field. The garden in Battersea Park is open to the public, and is staffed Monday to Friday. Visitors are welcome, but people wishing to speak to a staff member should telephone first to make arrangements.
