The Loris Rd project started in 1984 and consists of a mature garden, woodland, grassed lawn, wildlife pond, children's play area, recycling point and eco-shed. A paved central area incorporates a mosaic and a time capsule; a mural of the Cork and Kerry mountains on one of the walls overlooking the garden has become a local landmark. The gardens are also used as an educational resource by local schools and in the holidays there are play schemes.
This site was described in a survey by the London Ecology Unit as 'a wonderful example of the way in which an aesthetically pleasing, interesting open space can be created and was a 2001 Green Pennant Winner. The site is fully accessible.
