The Field Studies Council is an environmental education charity with a number of field centres around the country. Slapton Ley is a residential field centre who hosts a wide variety of school and university groups. Linked with the field centre is a National Nature Reserve (Slapton Ley NNR), which is managed and run by FSC staff. We run weekly volunteering sessions, which involves a wide variety of practical activities from cutting back scrub to installing fences and general maintenance of the nature reserve. We are looking into care farming as this aligns with the FSC's values of well-being and reconnecting people with nature.
