Long Mead Local Wildlife Site

Address: Horseshoe Island
Oxford Road
Swinford
OX29 4DU

Long Mead Local Wildlife Site is a working farm with one of Britain's last wildflower meadows, as well as a traditional orchard fuel copse and allotment. We have been providing care-farming activities since 2011 as part of Nature England's Higher Level Stewardship Scheme. We are currently embarking on a major environmental project to restore the wildflower meadows of the Upper Thames, while enabling
people with learning disabilities and autism to make a valuable
contribution to this important environmental project, thereby building
their skills and confidence through healthy, outdoor activities, and
making new social connections in the local community.
