Rhubarb Farm CIC
Rhubarb Farm is a horticultural social enterprise on a 2 acre site in a rural ex-pit village on the Notts/Derbs border. The Farm provides training, placement and volunteering opportunities for vulnerable people with a variety of needs and abilities - ex-offenders, recovering substance misusers, school students, people with physical and mental ill health, people with physical and learning disability, and older people, some with dementia. The Farm grows fruit and vegetables, keeps poultry and pigs, and sells produce to local farm shops, restaurants, veg bag customers and through the small on-site shop. The Farm employs 19 people and supports about 100 people at any one time.
Rhubarb Farm is open 8.30 to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, for supporting volunteers (ie 'clients'), who come from 9-3pm.
The Farm shop is open to the public from 10-1pm on Friday and Saturday.
Tours, school visits and corporate days can all be arranged in advance, for which there is a charge.
