We provide short term nature based activities for socially isolated and/lonely (adult) residents living in the Hertsmere/Watford area of Hertfordshire. Our activities are designed and led/co-led by an HCPC Occupational Therapist. They take place in a range of heritage and outdoor green spaces in the local neighbourhood and include wonder walks, sensory sessions, growing tutorials, story telling and nature writing for well-being. We also design and deliver nature based activity boxes to support the outdoor sessions. Over the next 3 years, we hope to slowly adopt a volunteer and community led model of operating, which can be guided and supported by our lead occupational therapist. We also aim to broker supported volunteering opportunities at local heritage gardens, using the principles of STH.
