Are you creating safe spaces for staff and volunteers? Do you feel stressed or overburdened by the need to look after the emotional needs of others? Do you want to avoid burnout for you and your staff?
Community gardens and city farms are important in maintaining personal wellbeing for many people. However, we also understand that this work is emotionally taxing. This workshop will look at policies and procedures to create appropriate boundaries that protect staff and provide clarity and security for volunteers.
You will
- Develop understanding of stress and burnout within a community growing context.
- Gain increased clarity about roles within a community garden.
- Deepen awareness of personal and professional boundaries.
- Learn new ways to deal with challenging situations
- Produce related actions to reduce personal and organisational risk of burnout.
