Help plant a new orchard and learn about; variety/rootstock selection for pollination, disease resistance and climate, mulching, staking, and soil amendments.
After enjoying a lunch of hot soup made with Wern Farm produce (please bring your own sandwiches as well), we will tour the site and discuss plans for the Forest Garden orchard. Please do bring any planting spades you might want to use, along with a notebook and some questions.
About the venue
Wern Farm is part of a pilot project developed by the Future Farms Partnership. They are a partnership of passionate young growers renting council farmland in Sarn, Powys, working to develop resilient local food systems that support communities and enhance biodiversity.
