In this workshop you will learn how to cultivate beneficial soil microorganisms from your local area and some different ways of preparing and using them to encourage ecological balance within your orchard. We will look at the role of soil microbiology in plant nutrition, the functions of different microbe groups and explore the dynamics underlying soil, plant and human health.
Emily is an agroecologist who lived in the Canary Islands for many years where she worked with local food systems. Since returning to the UK she has continued to develop her knowledge and practice of soil regeneration techniques through her inter-disciplinary degree at Black Mountains College in Talgarth and as a practitioner for The Blackthorne Trust, a non-profit rural heritage organisation helping communities to connect with land-based living.
