As members of the City Farm movement, we know why farms and gardens are so important and what they need to survive - but how do we convey that knowledge and passion to people outside our community? To audiences who don't know, and may not even care?
Knowing how to find and tell your own specific (and unique) story is one of the best ways to get a broader, collective message heard. It's a skill - and you can learn how to master it on a full-day, interactive storytelling and communication workshop.
Delivered by author, agricultural journalist and broadcaster, farmer's daughter and founder of Just Farmers Community Interest Company, Anna Jones, this carefully curated workshop is aimed specifically at people working on city farms.
The overall aim of the workshop is for you to leave with a unique story to share, and for London's city farms to work on a joint story to share. By the end of the day you will be able to:
1) Explain to your colleagues what makes a successful story that creates real impact, by honing your news sense and editorial judgement.
2) Identify and shape your own personal story and relate it back to city farming.
3) Know what to say, with confidence, in the media spotlight.
