Join us for a friendly discussion on growing food to sell to businesses. What is needed from the business persective? How can growers meet these needs while looking after their growing group? Everyone welcome to contribute to the discussion.
Where: Loaf Cafe, Grosvenor Road, Belfast
When: Tuesday 28th February 2017 2.30pm - 4pm
We were recently approached by the Now Group with a very interesting suggestion.
The Now Group run the lovely Loaf cafe on the Grosvenor Road, the Bobbin in City Hall and Loaf catering company. As a proud Belfast based social enterprise the Now Group recognise the importance and value of involving the local community in their work and the benefits of sourcing local produce in their business. To further embed this philosophy they are keen to establish partnerships with growers in Belfast and surrounding areas to supply their produce.
We are looking to support community partners to undertake this work. We will provide training to ensure that your community garden or allotment is able to establish and maintain all the working systems required.
The first phase of this exciting initiative is to invite you to our 'Meet the Growers' event. This event will be valuable for community growers, smallholdings selling or hoping to sell produce, and businesses hoping to improve their social responsibility thorugh buying policies.
It would be a lovely if you to bring along jams, chutneys or any produce from your garden to give the Now Group an dea of what you can offer. The event will also be an opportunity to meet the team at Loaf to find out more about their requirements.
Please note: there is no charge for this event but please book your place so that we can plan accordingly.
